How to find out LoRa interfaces to connect to ?
Started by tukan ·
Hi,
I'd like to go around with an RNode and try to find some other Reticulum networks to connect to.
How would I go about that ?
Mostly, my understanding is that there are some LoRa configurations to do on an RNode to connect to other similarly configured RNodes. That's fine when it's part of a coordinated effort to create a network.
But how can I discover other networks without prior knowledge about their configurations ?
Thanks. Tukan.
You have to have the same frequency, spreading factor and bandwidth to connect two lora nodes together, there is no option to auto connect unfortunately (though it would be a nice feature). If the rnode's discovery is set then you can view it on https://rmap.world/ https://directory.rns.recipes/ or https://rns.fyi/?mode=all&view=map . The lora nodes can sent announcements into the network with details about their configurations, so checking on some of those is probably your best bet. I'd recommend just setting your configs the same as the closest Rnode to you if you don't have any other better reason not to.
