I have the following problem / question:
I have rnsd and lxmd as separate services, using the same indentity though.
I start rnsd with auto discovery enabled. rnsd don't start properly because the lxmd for auto discovery is missing. rnstatus don't find a shared instance.
After starting lxmd rnsd seems to connect to the rns instance established by lxmd, because it gives in the log:
```[Warning]  Started rnsd version 1.5.7 connected to another shared local instance, this is probably NOT what you want!```
Is it possible to configure rnsd and lxmd when auto discovery is enabled, so that lxmd uses the rnsd instance which was started first?
You do not need `lxmd` running for auto-discovery to work. You just need the LXMF module *installed* (it uses the stamp verification from LXMF for discovery stamps).
- Make sure the `lxmf` module is installed in the same environment you run `rnsd` in.
- Start `rnsd`
- Start `lxmd` (if you actually need/want it, otherwise skip this step)
just have systemd/openrc/whatever run rnsd first
After: lxmd.service should do the trick
I'm not so familar with the borders of python environments. Does this count as same environment? Or do I have to get lxmd and rnsd under the the venvs?
```
/home/reticulum/.local/bin/lxmd
/home/reticulum/.local/share/pipx/venvs/lxmf/bin/lxmd
/home/reticulum/.local/share/pipx/venvs/nomadnet/bin/lxmd

/usr/local/bin/rnsd (sym link to below)
/home/reticulum/.local/bin/rnsd
/home/reticulum/.local/share/pipx/venvs/lxmf/bin/rnsd
/home/reticulum/.local/share/pipx/venvs/nomadnet/bin/rnsd
/home/reticulum/.local/share/pipx/venvs/rns/bin/rnsd

Derived values (computed by pipx):

PIPX_HOME=/home/reticulum/.local/share/pipx
PIPX_BIN_DIR=/home/reticulum/.local/bin
PIPX_MAN_DIR=/home/reticulum/.local/share/man
PIPX_SHARED_LIBS=/home/reticulum/.local/share/pipx/shared
PIPX_LOCAL_VENVS=/home/reticulum/.local/share/pipx/venvs
PIPX_LOG_DIR=/home/reticulum/.local/state/pipx/log
PIPX_TRASH_DIR=/home/reticulum/.local/share/pipx/trash
PIPX_VENV_CACHEDIR=/home/reticulum/.cache/pipx
PIPX_STANDALONE_PYTHON_CACHEDIR=/home/reticulum/.local/share/pipx/py
PIPX_DEFAULT_PYTHON=/usr/bin/python3.13

I had problem like this, rnsd would not start without lxmf module (both installed by pipx), so I maked lxmf package somewhat mounded insde rns package by: `pipx inject rns lxmf` and it works, its better than previous hack (something like `source lxmf/bin/activate` befor running rnsd)

Yes, thank you thank you for the hint. I also thought about to inject the lxmf package into the rns venv. And it worked! Now rnsd runs on its own, as Mark has precicted.
