# New on reticulum with no technical knowledge

hello i'm new on reticulum i try to use mechxchat but not really good on technical level like what are anoucement et how do i get to talk to people every anoncement seem to be bot or backbone stuff

Hello, welcome, this reticulum works by broadcasting announcements, and if you are connected to the internet, you can see the general nature of announcements and different people, to talk to someone you can give them your lxmf address to send you a message, or you can enter their address in your contacts and talk to them.

If you don't have anyone to talk to, you can search in rrc, or look for discussion forums on nomadnet, etc. (:

Please take your time and go trough the reticulum manual.

After this please ask questions, which you will have for sure, but will be a lot less general and will not require a ton of explanation, already done in many places.
Also, when asking questions, please give a short overview of the actual setup you have, system, RNS config, interfaces, etc. It will help a lot and spare everyone time and effort to decode your state.
