# MeshChatX: What to do with error messages ?

Hello all,
i am brand new to this whole RNS thing and play around with MeshChatX under windows on my home laptop and can enter the mesh.

Sometimes I get error messages on the screen and wonder how to investigate further.

Just moments ago it was 'failed to load contacts' and i wonder where to look for further details.

Does MeshChatX write logs ? I  looked at Tools/Debug Logs but there is nothing.

Thanks a lot for the software and for any ideas !

You can find logfile at `C:\Users\{yourusername}\.reticulum-meshchatx\logs\` sometimes it might just be internal connection issues that resolve on its own. 

Which version are you on and how often is it happening?

Thanks a lot ! I thought they would live in %APPDATA%
