Some new updates are here for rns.recipes

First with the big things.

There is now a Webring feature in Nomad where you can submit, vote, and comment on Nomad nodes. You can also embed it on your page using Micron partials

Anyone is free to contribute and add any Nomad destination they want and embed it on their page. Find something cool? Submit it to the Webring. I'm working on adding categories too. Also feel free to embed it on your own Nomad page.

The node directory has also been added

Additionally, you can now change the forum layout. Identify to the node and then hit "Center" if you prefer a center-layout

Web mirror:

  • An RSS feed is now available https://rns.recipes/forum/feed.xml
  • Single line breaks now add new lines, instead of the previously required double-space which was stupid of me to start with lol

Nomad Changes:

  • You can now edit and delete your posts from Nomad.
  • Issue resolved for duplicate posts on back navigation
  • You can now change your name, LXMF address, and bio in "Settings"
  • You can now adjust page layout
  • Nomad destinations are now clickable

Updates to moderation:

OPs of low-quality threads sent here will have the opportunity to edit their post and mark it for restoration. Anything else will just sit there instead of being hard deleted. This is to maintain transparency in moderation. Purgatory is not visible in the forum list but is accessible through the link.

Nomad LXMF bot:

  • You can now verify or update your LXMF address and claim it through the bot
  • Fixed issue where watched thread notifications weren't going to prop node

Planned [still working on]:

  • Reply via rns.recipes LXMF bot
  • "Read up to" marker for watched threads
  • Email notifications
  • Voting Polls

Btw, you can now select text content of a post to quote it on the WWW mirror, or quote it by clicking the post number (#2). Post numbers are now shown to allow ease of quoting from Nomad

Awesome work! I really like the purgatory concept, it seems like a nice middle ground solution.

I love the webring as a response to the crawlers! Not everything needs a technical solution, when you can also organize it in a way where humans just come together.

Love the idea of a purgatory! I've been thinking about webrings too, it's a great fit for NomadNet. Maybe consider calling it something else though, as it's not for the web but for Nomad nodes. Node ring?

This is some great stuff! Really appreciate the updates. The purgatory is a great idea. I had been thinking about proposing the idea of a "Hall of Shame", but the purgatory is a lot less over the top, lol :)

The webring with embeddable partial is awesome, I added it to Aleph :) But yeah, maybe we should call it nodering instead, as Joakim suggested?

Awesome with the edit and delete functionality! I can now finally correct my inevitable double-posts and typos :D

Great job on the updates. The forum is looking really slick!

As of right now, is there any way to access the RSS feed over RNS?

Thats actually something I really miss and think would make total sense to port over from the web world while still perfectly matching reticulum zen.

Nice update! Thank you for making this. Is LXMFy the target for the bot framework?

You can now edit and delete your posts from Nomad.

I do see an edit link but no way to delete?

Oh I see, only new posts can be deleted, old posts can only be edited. I don't suppose that can be fixed?
