# Support for Heltec T096 in RNode firmware

Hi everyone,

does anyone know if there are plans to add support for the new Heltec T096 ([https://heltec.org/project/t096/](url)) to the RNode firmware?

I think the T096 looks very promising because it utilizes the same PA as the V4 but is based on nrf52 to save power in idle.

I have added preliminary support for T096 in my [repo](https://git.rns.moscow/deuxyeux/RNode_Firmware/commit/ed5f68f3fa20d14722fcc7aec2c1f8fb031b9ded) and [flasher](https://flasher.rns.moscow/).

Transmission and reception has been tested "on the table" between two Nomadnet instances. No range testing has been conducted. From the looks of it, the T096 uses the same front-end as a Heltec V4.3.

There are issues with screen flickering on refresh that I haven't been able to fix. Maybe someone more experienced can take a look.
I also haven't looked into the PMU yet.
