Hello all,

Reticulum-Go has changed license to Mark's Reticulum License. It has been on my mind since it first came out for RNS, but I decided to do it today after reading https://reticulum.network/manual/brandolinis.html among a few other reasons I will talk about some other time.

Starting with commit 5e17f7d2 and tag v1.3.0, all new work is under the Reticulum License. Everything before that stays under its original license, recorded in LEGAL.md.

I have also updated the docs, copyright, and website to reflect this accurately. Reticulum-Go is still considered experimental, a work in progress for now, but I accept all contributions, criticism, and feedback.

I fully understand the impacts of this and I align strongly with Mark. The goal of Reticulum-Go has always been to help out and extend the python stack not to replace it or market it as 500x faster.

Coincidentally I just finished reading 'brandolinis' myself (phwew!) and I'm really happy to hear you picked this license. I hope more devs follow suit! Cheers!

Ivan,

I haven't been able to help you very much (hardly at all, in fact) in the development of Reticulum-Go, but I have followed it more or less from the start. I know how much of your personal time, effort and care you have put into it, and knowing that, I say truly thank you for doing this, and for the huge amount of other work you have been doing for the community.

Your contributions here are truly appreciated, and useful to everyone.

The goal of Reticulum-Go has always been to help out and extend the python stack

That is the impression I have always had, both from reading the code, and because of the way you have been producing everything, with care, personal responsibility, and (I must admit it) security practices that often outshine RNS itself.

Keep up the good work, and thank you!

No worries Mark, you already have enough on your plate. I am glad to help out the network and community where I can.
